MainePERS Members Planning to Retire or Applying for Disability Benefits
MainePERS does not administer any health insurance benefits and is, therefore, not able to address questions about members, retirees or beneficiaries health insurance.
If you are not sure about what health insurance benefits you may have when you retire, when you apply for disability, or when you become eligible for survivor benefits, please contact your employer’s personnel or business office or your union/professional organization to find out more about what health insurance benefits you may be eligible to receive.
Contact Information for Health and Dental Insurance
As a convenience for our retirees, health and dental insurance premiums can be deducted from your monthly benefit payment and sent directly to your insurer if they are a MainePERS-approved vendor. MainePERS does not administer any health insurance programs. If you have questions about your health insurance coverage, please contact your health insurance program administrator.
